Local elections in Hungary – Jobbik is the 2-nd party

After the country-wide local elections of the 12-th of October, the the Hungarian member party of AEMN, Jobbik stabilized its 2-nd place in the Hungarian politics.

The Hungarian national party has become the 2-nd largest political group in 17 out of the 19 County Councils in Hungary and could send a total of 468 members to the local councils.  Jobbik was the only political party that has received more votes now than in 2010, in the last local elections.

The party is strong in the countryside and small-medium size towns, cities, however the popularity in the capital city Budapest is only the half its countrywide average.

The turnout of the Hungarian local elections in 2014 was the lowest ever, 44.29%.
